Photographs
37 North Great George’s St, 2005
These were taken as a part of a series investigating back garden spaces and how they were transformed and used.
They show the ebb and flow of nature and human intervention as they compete. Many gardens have multiple lives as they are re-imagined by their owners who clear the space needed for growing veg, socializing or just relaxing.
The medium of stereo photography was chosen to contrast this with a larger project which incorporates formal gardens designed to be seen from one perspective.
