The exhibition was opened by Ciarán Benson, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at University College Dublin. His interests include the cultural psychology of self and identity, psychology and philosophy of the visual arts, and psychological dimensions of society and social / cultural policy. He has written extensively on psychology, philosophy and education, as well as on cultural policy and art criticism. He is currently Chairman of Poetry Ireland and was previously Chairman of the Irish Arts Council from 1993 – 98.
